Approachable Ingredients

At Minimalist Baker we like to keep it simple. All you need to use our products are a few approachable ingredients that make delicious, easy recipes you'll want to make again and again.

  • Water

  • Avocado or Refined Coconut Oil

  • Vanilla Extract

  • MB Chocolate Cake Mix


Cake Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan with oil or line a standard-size muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together water, avocado oil or melted refined coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Add the cake mix and continue to whisk until thoroughly combined. Make sure there are no flour streaks left in the batter.

Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan or divide the batter evenly between cupcake liners in muffin tin. If baking a cake, smooth the top with a spatula or the back of a knife.Bake for 31-35 minutes for cake or 20-23 minutes for cupcakes. Test doneness by inserting a toothpick into the center of the cake or a cupcake — when removed it should be almost clean.

Let the cake cool in its pan for 10 minutes (5 minutes for cupcakes) before carefully removing and fully cooling on a wire rack before frosting. Let cool completely before enjoying.
